covid19 restriction: Mosque will be closed

The Sefton Mosque and all of it’s facilities will be closed due to COVID19 restriction imposed by State Government until the further notice.

Our daily, weekly and all other services and congregation will resume as usual once the restriction will lift up by the authority.

We are requesting community members to help us in this regard.

Annual General Meeting & Election notice

The Executive Committee of Bangladesh Islamic Centre of NSW has decided the following regarding the Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Election to select the new Executive Committee.

  • AGM & Election for 2021-2023 Date: 22 August 2021, Time: 11AM
  • New membership/ Membership renewal will open from 01 July 2021 till 17 July 2021
  • Operation hours for new/renew membership: Monday – Thursday (10am – 3 pm), Friday up to 12 pm and Weekend may available by appointment
  • New Member has to come with filled ‘Membership Form’ along with photo ID and $20 cash or BIC (Westpac acc. BSB: 032065, A/c no. 300377 ) bank deposit receipt for General Membership and $300 for Life Membership. No EFTPOS facility will be available on site.  
  • Existing Members to renew their membership don’t need to come physically. They can deposit the money to the BIC Bank account (Westpac acc. BSB: 032065, A/c no. 300377 ) and send a SMS to the membership committee to renew his/her membership.

The Executive Committee of Bangladesh Islamic Centre of NSW has decided the new election date to elect the new Executive Committee as follows:

25 July, 2021

IMPORTANT: Notice from Fair Trading

In the current COVID-19 circumstances, associations no longer have to apply for extensions of time to hold their 2020 annual general meetings or submit annual summaries of financial affairs. Associations may conduct their AGM when restrictions are lifted or present 2020 financial information to members at the 2021 AGM.

Until 26 September 2020, associations may conduct committee meetings and general meetings using technology and pass ordinary and special resolutions by either postal or electronic ballot even if this isn’t stipulated in their constitutions. Members must still have an opportunity to participate in meetings using technology.

Prayer Guidelines from 1st June 2020 until next notification of changes

The following guidelines are given for the safety of our Musallis (Worshippers) during this pandemic (COVID19). The Committee of this Masjid is humbly requesting the Musallis to follow these guidelines for the safety of our community.  

*** The Maximum attendees at a time for prayer limits to 50 (Govt. restriction implies)

  • Please make your ablution (Wudu) from home if possible
  • Use soap or hand sanitizer to clean your hands
  • You can use your own prayer mat for your own safety
  • If you are too elderly or have some symptoms of COVID19, please stay home
  • Australia is winning this battle by the Amr of Allah Subhanahu Tayala. So, the situation will improve and restriction will be lifted Insha’allah. These arrangements for a transition period only. As soon as the Government permits, we will continue our normal rituals Insha’Allah.
